James L. "Slug" Watson
1938-2009
We were blessed to have known one of God's choice servants. James was a strong Christian, dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He served the Lord as a deacon, treasurer, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school superintendent and other positions here at Maranatha. James truly was a wonderful servant of the Lord and a very kind and friendly gentleman. James also served in the community as a city councilman for the city of Gastonia. He will be greatly missed by our church and all who knew him.
James went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2009. There will be a special worship service held at Maranatha Baptist Church in his honor on March 15, 2009 at 6pm. If you knew James or his family you are invited to this special service.
